Baseball is touted as America’s favorite past time. We’d argue that it’s coffee drinking and debauchery, but that’s a case to be made another time. With the season opener right around the corner, it’s time to connect the dots between brews and bats. This season, we’re getting in on the action. In our league, there’s only two teams and the bitter rivalry goes deep. One is a team of hardened black coffee drinkers, and the other a rebellious legion of sugared-up brew heads. Pick your team & get ready to root ‘em on for the next nine weeks.
The Teams
Pitch Black – Black coffee or bust. Our black coffee drinkers unite under the banner of bold.
Creamators – Pourin' cream & pitchin’ strikes. Those of you that like your coffee with accoutrements, get ready to root on the Creamators this season.
How does one get on a team? You have to be a Society of Strong Coffee member in order to gain access to the upcoming baseball jersey release Thursday, 3/28. If you get your hands on one of these limited & exclusive team jerseys, you’ve made it to the starting line up. And even if you don’t, you can still cheer on your team all season long. There’s more to come, trust us...
The Rules
The season will last for 9 innings across 9 weeks. Team members can earn points for their team using the points-generation opportunities below. Every Tuesday we’ll update our teams on whose leading in points. At the end of the season, our winning team will receive a gift never to be sold and exclusively for the Swig League.
What to Expect
Every Tuesday, those on the team can expect an email with the update on which team is in the lead. Those of you watching from the stands can also stay updated and make sure you’re doing all you can to rep your team.
Those who make the team will also notice their Ritual Rewards program tier change. This will automatically go back to your normal tier at the end of the season and you’ll continue to earn points through the program as usually, they’ll just count double towards your efforts in the Swig Leagues.
How to Earn Points
Once the teams are picked (AKA when the jerseys sell out), each team will have a designated homepage on our website where they can review all the ways in which they can earn points for their team. Each team will have a keyword they can share to earn SMS sign ups (+1 point each) and a form on their homepage to share with friends to earn email sign ups. Each team will also have a unique code for generating subscription referral orders (+10 points) and unique links for sharing to capture referral one-time orders.
First Base: New Email Sign Up (+1 Point)
Second Base: New SMS Sign Up (+1 Point)
Third Base: Earning Referral Purchase (+5 Points)
Home Run: Earning Referral Subscription (+10 Points)
