Welcome to Death Wish:
In 2012, Death Wish Coffee Co. was started in a small coffee shop in Saratoga Springs, NY. Founder, Mike Brown, saw a need for coffee that was both strong and delicious to serve his groggy, morning customers. After creating the perfect blend of beans and combining it with his unique roasting technique, the 'World's Strongest Coffee' was born. Today, thousands of people trust Death Wish Coffee to wake them up and keep them going every day.
Our mission is to fuel you wherever you go. Death Wish Coffee is made by passionate people for passionate people. We strive for the best tasting and highest quality organic and fair trade beans in every bag. Our processes are USDA certified and we have committed to sustainability throughout our products. We offer a 100%, no-BS guarantee: if this isn't the strongest coffee you've ever tried, we'll gladly give you a refund.
What We’ve Done:
In 2015, we won Intuit’s ‘Small Business Big Game’ competition, which gave us a 30- second commercial spot during the Superbowl. Since then, our business has grown every day allowing us to reach more coffee drinkers than ever before. We were the official coffee sponsor of New York Comic Con, we’ve sponsored Nascar Driver Ty Dillon and we’ve had the opportunity to support amazing charities like the Special Olympics with our products. We also continue to release, limited edition merchandise such as apparel and mugs to make sure the Death Wish brand fits into every aspect of our fans lives.
Who We Are:
Meet the Death Wish team— we’re growing every single day.
Mike Brown, Owner & Founder
Hi! I’m Mike, for the past 8 years I’ve made my living working in many aspects of the coffee world. After owning and working countless shifts in my small coffee shop in Saratoga Springs, I knew my love for coffee wasn’t going to end there, it turned out to be just the beginning. I created Death Wish Coffee in 2012 because I wanted to bring something new and powerful to the coffee world and fulfill the request of some crazy coffee shop customers. It's been an unbelievable ride so far and I am forever grateful for the people it brings into my life and the lessons I'm learning. My favorite color is red, I drink my Death Wish Coffee black everyday and I love to work early in the morning.
John, Product Development
Hi! My name is John. I was traveling in a fried-out combie On a hippie trail head full of zombie I met a strange lady, she made me nervous She took me in and gave me breakfast And she said, "Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover" I did and now I drink my coffee BLACK!
I’m Teah-- great to meet you! I've been with Death Wish since September '13, and in coffee for seven years. My duties here are simple: to spread the Death Wish Coffee word! When I'm not making too many The Office references, I'm working on the weekly newsletter, social media content, our blog, and other marketing ventures. Otherwise, you can find me at the dog park with my pup, at home with a paint brush, or out boogieing to live music.
Eric Production Manager
Hello. I am the production and shipping manager at Death Wish Coffee Co. I work closely with our suppliers and warehouse to ensure that our customers receive fresh coffee as quickly as possible. I also manage our domestic and international Amazon lines, and handle the customer service associated with those platforms. In my off time, I read a bunch of books and play some rad sparkly drums. I can do twenty push-ups in a row.
Kane, Advertising, Customer Service Management
Hello there! My name is Kane and most people call me Kane Bear. I handle a lot of things here at DWCC. For one, when things go wrong, I "handle" the blame. When things go right, someone else gets the credit and it makes their day! Customer service is our number one value here at DWCC, and I'm the lucky chum that gets to manage that department. I also try and guide us through the ever changing world of advertising. In my free time I produce funky fresh beats and write cheesy, sappy love songs about my failed relationships in middle school. Cheers!
Caitlind, Customer Service
Hello! I’m Caitlind. I recently began my journey with DWCC working closely with the very best to collaborate, organize and implement new ideas and methods to keep you the people, the most happy. My main objective around here is customer service with a smile. Answering the phones, responding to the excellent emails you guys send our way and keeping socially connected. I believe my true essential function is just to spread the love in the form of caffeine and good vibes. In my free time I enjoy reading sad Facebook posts and commenting with irrelevant facts to redeem positivity. I also enjoy fishing, watching my dog eat potato chips, mountain biking and photography. All things food related are necessities and family & friends are above all the glue that keeps the world whole.
Sierra, Customer Service
I'm Sierra and I joined Death Wish in 2016 working with customer service! After work, I like to smoosh my cat Frankenstein's face, stare at art things, and rock climb! I have a scary sweet tooth (doughnuts?), and I add a sprinkle of cinnamon to my coffee.
Thomas, Graphic Design
Hello Death Defiers! I’m the dude responsible for creating engaging visuals for you to secretly lurk on while at work, or late at night when your significant other is fast asleep. My design is heavily influenced by the vast world of ideas, encounters, colors, cultures and people that surround me and the team here contributes to that in a major way. When I’m not sitting in front of a face melting computer, I like to fall off my skateboard, eat tacos, play records and hang out with the raddest crew of friends and family east of the Mississippi.
Hi, I am Wayne and I work in production for Death Wish. I like to make Death Cups.
Hey, I’m Dave! I work in packaging and production here at Death Wish. Basically my job is to fill the bags with the coffee you love. I also spend time running our single serve machine. As per Kane’s request, my favorite song is currently Cigarettes & Saints by The Wonder Years. Like my coworkers I drink my coffee black.
