Three years since the Small Business Big Game competition

In 2015, we entered the Intuit Quickbooks Small Business Big Game Competition with 15,000 other businesses thinking nothing would ever come of it.  But it was worth a shot, right? 

What we didn't know at the time was that entering that contest would change this company forever in the blink of an eye. We quickly realized the power of the Death Wish Coffee Community, who worked tirelessly to vote for us and to spread the message for others to do the same. 

Within a few weeks, we found out we were in the top ten, and then eventually our owner and CEO Mike Brown was flown to San Jose, CA where he learned we were in the top three. Then when Intuit Quickbooks showed up to tell us we won, we couldn't believe it was real.

But it was, and we couldn't be more thrilled. As a result, we aired a free 30-second Super Bowl 50 commercial that introduced our brand to millions of people around the world.

Since then, we've experienced exponential growth — our team is up to 35 members, we're in thousands of grocery stores around the country (with more to come in 2019), we have a coffee truck hitting the road soon, and, oh yeah, we sent coffee to the International Space Station

And we couldn't have done ANY of this without you — our passionate, caring community who has stuck with us through the thick and thin. We will never be able to express just how much your ongoing support means to us as a company.
