Riki's Ride has traveled more than 11,000 miles so far on its 18,000 mile journey across the United States to raise money for Stop Soldier Suicide — and on Thursday, it made a stop by Death Wish Coffee's headquarters in Round Lake, New York.
Radio and TV personality Riki Rachtman and Ink Master's Lea Vendetta came by the warehouse to sample different types of coffee, meet the team, and to talk about his ride so far.
They also did a cupping session with us, where we tested coffee from around the world. Cupping is the best way to pull flavor notes from coffee. You do this by using immersion brewing methods. Immersion methods require coffee grounds to be fully immersed in water for all or most of brew time, then filtered.
Riki and Lea are raising money for Stop Soldier Suicide, an organization that provides therapy, financial assistance, and more to United States Veterans. It's a cause that's close to Riki's heart — when he heard that 22 veterans die by suicide every day, he knew he needed to get involved.
