Watch the Darkside of the Rainbow

By Angela Garrity, Guest blogger

Have you ever been to the Darkside of Oz, the Darkside of the Rainbow, or been the see the Wizard of Floyd as some know it? It is beyond the moon, beyond the rain and has been transcending time and space since 1994.

Synching up Pink Floyd’s Darkside of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz will take your mind somewhere over the rainbow, as you start to notice strange coincidences between the film’s plot of actions and the legendary rock album that stayed on the top of the charts for over 40 years. Classics never die.

To experience this for yourself the way it is intended to be seen, start The Wizard of Oz after the third MGM lion roar (movie volume completely down) and hit play on Darkside of the Moon at the same time. Sit back, watch, listen and observe the journey before you.

If that’s too much work, click here to experience it via YouTube.

Did you catch how loudly the clocks seem to scream with their alerts in “Time” just as Mrs. Greeley rides her bike to collect Toto? A mere foreshadowing of the fate she has in store for the little dog. Let the dark moment speak for itself. It gave me chills the first time I experienced this many years ago.

There are countless hidden gems in his mashup that you need to experience for yourself. I guarantee you’ve never taken a trip to Oz like this and you’ll never see the 1939 classic the same, afterwards.  If you’d like a list of all of the spoilers, Goldmine published them here in 2011.

Band members have repeatedly stated that any relationship is merely coincidence, but this strange  phenomenon has led people searching for over 20 years to find other Hollywood classics that synch with other albums by the English band.

We’re glad someone found this treasure and shared it with the world. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
