This Metallica children's book is a bedtime story you'll actually want to read to your kids

Metallica reaching "The ABCs of Metallica" later this year

Not sure what to get that pint-sized metalhead in your life? Metallica can help you with that decision. “The ABCs of Metallica,” an illustrated children’s book, is coming to a bedtime story request near you.

A reflective look at the band’s history from A to Z, including rhymes and illustrations, the book was co-written by the band and Howie Abrams with featured illustrations by Michael “Kaves” McLeer.

“Each letter of the alphabet highlights a moment along our journey from Garage Days to Master of Puppets to fun facts about us,”  the band wrote recently on their website.

When a band’s roots extend back to '81, many fans of “The Mighty Met” are now parents (or grandparents) themselves.

We get that this book won’t be for everyone, but not all of us are ready to be subjected to hearing (or being forced to sing) “Baby Shark” one more time just to keep the tiny tots amused. Ugh.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit All Within My Hands, the band’s charity foundation.

Pre-sales of the book, in addition to Young Metal Attack bundle merchandise are available now with an anticipated launch to bookstores date of November 26.

While we don’t recommend throwing on Ride the Lightning before bedtime in hopes in conjunction with reading to get the kids to calm down, maybe this video might be more appropriate to set the mood after sundown. Start them young, right?
