Meet Death Wish: Kristine Wheeler, Customer Service Specialist
By Abdullah Wali — / Death Wish Coffee Blog
Death Wish Coffee Company is made up of a small but growing team. We want to take you inside our headquarters and introduce you to some of the team members that make it all come together.
Although Kristine Wheeler is among the newest members of the Death Wish Coffee team, she's already become an integral part of the whole operation. In fact, you probably already know her. She's the problem-slayer that you talk to when you call or send us a chat message. If you ever stop by and say hi, you'll find her with the phone to her ear while sipping a fresh cup of Death Wish out of her signature flower mug.
How long have you been working with Death Wish and what do you do here?
I have been with Death Wish for almost 6 months, in June. I am part of the customer service team with Caid, Sierra, and Kane. An awesome and fun department to be in!
What have you learned about the coffee industry that surprised you?
I have been a barista in the past so I knew a little going in. However working for Death Wish has given me more knowledge about coffee in all ways possible. From the origin of beans, to grind styles for the right machine. There's so much more that goes into making the perfect coffee blend (aka Death Wish).
What does a typical day look like for you? How much coffee do you drink?
I'm a very routine person and sometimes I hate it but it makes me feel organized. I get to work around 7:50-8:00 am so I can make a cup of Death Wish before I get down to work. Once I have my cup ready I start the day by going through lots of emails and I mean a lot! If I finish my coffee too early, I'll grab a second. Then typically around late morning, the phones start buzzing and my day soon flys by.
What do you do for fun?
I do a lot of random things. It depends on how I'm feeling that day. Usually, I go to the gym after work however if I'm lazy I'll go straight home and hang out with my wild german shepherd husky, Moose, which basically could be a workout. If I'm not doing any of that, you can for sure find me watching Greys Anatomy with a glass of wine.
What’s something that goes on at HQ that people would be surprised to learn?
Well, this probably isn't a surprise but, everyone here is pretty cool and you can act like yourself. Sometimes it gets crazy like with the nerf gun wars, but I think it's great. You always need a little crazy in life.
