Death Wish Coffee Company is made up of a small but growing team. We want to take you inside our headquarters to introduce to some of the team members that make it all come together.
Everyone knows that in order to run a well-oiled machine someone needs to be adding the grease. At Death Wish, Kristen Underwood is the person who helps every team get their job done, makes sure things are in order and always knows where the pens are.
How long have you been working with Death Wish and what do you do here?
I've been with Death Wish for just over 6 months now. I mostly deal with receiving payments from our vendors and making sure they're paid as well! I spend most of my days helping marketing post memes on our social media pages like Facebook and twitter and responding to our incoming surveys. The most important part of my day is stocking the front shelf so Kane doesn't get mad!
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about coffee?
The biggest lesson I've learned about coffee is the coffee we roast here isn't about me. It's about providing moments that add value to the lives of everyone on any day of the week at any given time.
What does a typical day at the office look like for you? How much coffee do you drink?
I start my day by climbing over my elliptical to get to my Keurig. Once I'm done getting ready for work, I make another coffee to hold me over until lunch time and then I make another on lunch to bring back for the rest of my work day! While in the office, I start by going through emails, responding to surveys, posting things on our social media, going through the mail, and helping out wherever help is needed.
What do you do for fun?
Most of the time, while not at work you can find me at the hair salon dying my hair the complete opposite color it was from the month before. I also love traveling, cooking, kayaking, makeup, music and pretty much anything outdoors.
What is your life motto?
Do your best until you know better.. and once you know better, do better.
