Lizzie Borden: We stayed the night in her haunted house

By Jeff Ayers — / Death Wish Coffee Blog

On August 4th, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were found dead in their home, both brutally murdered with an ax. Now, 128 years later, we still do not know what actually happened that morning or who the killer was.

The youngest of the two daughters, Lizzie Borden, was arrested and put on trial for the murders in 1893. One of the most publicized trials of the time, Lizzie was found not guilty and the mystery of who committed the murders has never been solved.

This year, we went the site of this unsolved mystery, The Lizzie Borden Museum and Bed and Breakfast, and stayed the night in the notoriously haunted location. We also met up with spirit medium Tiffany Rice to help us understand the events of the Borden's murder a little more and witness her connection to the house and the spirits that still dwell there.

For the 128th anniversary of one of the most famous unsolved crimes in history, relive our adventure in staying the night at the Lizzie Borden House, as the first episode of our brand new series, Before You Die.
