Looking back at our favorite moments from 2018

Our favorite moments of 2018

2018, you've been good to us here at Death Wish Coffee. All of us are extremely  grateful for the opportunities we've had during the last year, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you for supporting us as we grew as a company this year — we look forward to more adventures with you in 2019!

Here are some of our favorite moments from 2018.

Space launch

Our coffee went from the strongest coffee in the world to the strongest in the galaxy thanks to Nicole Stott, retired astronaut and artist, and our Fueled by Death Cast host Jeff Ayers.

Our coffee launched on Friday, June 29 at 5:42 a.m. aboard the Falcon 9 SpaceX rocket with the Dragon Capsule containing science experiments, care packages, and supplies. We made a freeze-dried instant blend of our coffee just for the astronauts on the International Space Station to enjoy.

Wholesale expansion

We're now in thousands of grocery stores nationwide — including WalMart, Safeway, Price Chopper, Hannaford, and more.

Special Olympics New York

We worked with Special Olympics New York for the third year in a row on their annual summer event. As a sponsor, our amazing community raised $37,492.50 for the Be Our Superhero Field Day in Latham, New York.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

2018 was the second year we worked with Zakk Wylde, world-renowned guitarist and Valhalla Java creator, to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. And thanks to you guys, we raised $30,000 this year.

Riki's Ride

We've been a proud sponsor of Riki's Ride for years, and we loved playing a role in his ride again for 2018 to help him raise money for Stop Soldier Suicide. We helped Riki plan events in Alabama, Michigan, and more, called Death Wish Coffee Fuel Stops, where Riki could drink coffee with local citizens who care about the cause or have a personal connection to soldier suicide. This year, he beat his fundraising goal and raised more than $30,000.

Toys for Toga

People dropped off more than 1,200 toys at our office for the Toys for Toga drive this year (double what we had in 2017). We teamed up with DeCrescente Distributing Company, Druthers Brewing Company, and dozens of other local companies to give kids across Saratoga County the best holiday season possible. In total, more than 5,000 toys were raised!

New office

We moved the office side of Death Wish to a new space in Ballston Spa, New York to accommodate for company growth. Our new office has meme walls, a full kitchen, and most importantly, BEAN BAG CHAIRS. Take a look inside.

Millionth pound

We roasted and packaged more than 1 million pounds of coffee in 2018 — that's A LOT of coffee beans. Shoutout to all of the production guys — John S., CJ, Adam, Justin, John John, Noah, Joe, Dave, Tony, Nate, Mathias, John W., Wayne, Uilliam, Chad, and Cristian — for making this possible.

New team members

We've grown as a company in 2018, adding new employees to our production team and our office team. We're growing each day and we're looking forward to add more team members in 2019!

Thanks for making 2018 the best year yet — we can't wait to see what's in store for 2019.
