We're working with Ethereal Confections to make caffeinated chocolate

We're changing the chocolate game — later this year, we're releasing caffeinated chocolate bars. We're working with Ethereal Confections to make a chocolate bar that has an imprinted skull and crossbones, and includes Death Wish Coffee, of course. Available now! Buy them here.

Ethereal Confections is based out of Woodstock, Illinois. It's owned by Mary Ervin, Michael Ervin, and Sara Miller. They use "bean to bar," sourcing the best cocoa beans from around the world. They work with partners that use 100% organic ingredients and fair treatment and pay for their employees and farmers. They currently source from Central and South America, specifically Haiti, The Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Ecuador. 

The bean to bar process was particularly intriguing to us when we were sourcing chocolate companies. We sent them our whole bean coffee, and they held a cupping and taste test session to find exactly what chocolate to pair with our coffee. Talk about a match made in heaven.

After that, they procured cocoa beans, roasted them to match our coffee's flavor profile, blended them both, and added cocoa nibs to our chocolate. The cocoa nibs and crushed whole bean coffee is added to the top of the bar, which is made with 64% cacao. 

The result? The most delicious caffeinated chocolate bars you'll ever taste.
