Ah, it's that time of the year again
By Angela Garrity, Guest blogger
Thanksgiving is when we count blessings and share what we are grateful for. It’s time to gather around the table with friends, family, and football. The very next day, and even hours later in some cases, it all goes to hell in a handbasket as we usher in the insanity that is Black Friday.
Retailer’s deep discounts on products bring out the crazies. Super early morning openings, long lines, arguments, and even occasional fights are not for everyone. We cannot help snickering at the insanity that ensues during “the most wonderful time of the year.” Haha, suckers.
Distractify recently recapped some of the craziest brawls over a buck that happened the day after we give thanks. There is even a Black Friday Death Count website that has been tallying up fatalities since 2006. These people are nuts and do not restore any faith in humanity.
Why even get into all that and possibly become a victim when Cyber Monday exists? Online shopping is safe, the discounts still apply, you can avoid peopling and no one has died. That’s a win all around.
Stay safe out there this Holiday season – at home, with your coffee, where pants are optional when you shop.
