What's it like voice acting for F is for Family?
A lot of people spent their weekends binge-watching F is for Family, available now on Netflix. The popular animated series chronicles the life of the Murphy family in the 1970s trying to hold it all together.
We were honored to have Bill Burr, one of the creators and executive producers of the popular Netflix series, on Fueled by Death Cast. On the episode, he talks about his career, what went into creating F is for Family, and more.
In this clip from Fueled By Death Cast below, Burr talks about voice acting for. Season 3 of F is for Family, how he learned what it's like to be a voice actor, and what it means to work with some of the best voice actors in the business.
Burr voices Frank Murphy on the show, which originally aired in 2015. Other voice actors on the show include Laura Dern (Sue), Justing Long (Kevin), Debi Derryberry (Maureen), and Hailey Reinhart (Bill).
"I find that a lot of the people that are more from the acting world want to be in the booth and will be looking at somebody. Sam likes that, Justin Long is such a ... when Justin does Kevin, and he makes the face — 'I wasn't doing anything' — he's so committed, and he has this look on his face. He's the guy I can't look at [in the booth]," Burr said. "Laura Dern likes to do it like that, Vince [Vaughn] likes to do it like that. You know, for someone like me, I was coming in as a standup comedian, it was intimidating to get in there with these people."
